What is Payment Authorization?

You may see an authorization for $XXX (your order amount) on your payment method, but you won't be charged UNTIL YOUR ORDER SHIPS.

An authorization is a pending charge or hold on a payment, to ensure there’s enough money to cover the cost of the product.

Here’s how an authorization works:

  • An authorization will usually appear in the pending transactions of your credit card or payment account.
  • When your product is shipped, the authorization will turn into a real charge and the amount will be deducted from your payment method.
  • If you cancel your order, depending on the processing time of your bank, the authorization release may take up to 7 business days.This timeframe is set by your bank or credit card company and outside of FlagandBanner.com's control.
  • If your product is backordered, you may see the authorization drop off your pending transactions. When your backordered product ships we will charge your card at that time.
