Wind Speed Chart for Flagpoles
The factors in helping you determine what flagpole is right for you are: wind zone area, flagpole height, base diameter, wall thickness, and the size of the flag you want to fly. The map below shows expected wind speeds for the next 50 years (since 1997) at 30 feet above ground level.

How to use these diagrams:
- Find your area on the map.
- Determine the maximum wind speed for your area utilizing the color chart provided.
- Find your wind speed on the chart below using both the Unflagged Wind Speed and the Flagged Wind Speed columns.
- Determine which flagpole is right for you.
